Hi, I'm looking at the DT 770 Pro X, as I've heard it sounds great for FPS gaming, but the lack of a 3.5 mm jack concerns me because I will need to use a tabletop mic. Is a tabletop mic ok for FPS gaming, or will that be an issue? I've never used one before. I also cannot speak with my friends when I move over to my Xbox for casual couch gaming. If the DTs aren't a good fit for me, what would you recommend instead (still with a focus on FPS) that can use a V-MODA mic? Or what would you recommend as a supplementary
I can say that the DT 770 pros are better for video editing, serious gaming and very comfortable for long sessions. That being said the sound profile is not a fun or honestly all that enjoyable. I end up having to EQ them to adjust the treble or I get a headache. Most streamers get them because it became trendy more than anything. The FiiO FT1s have a much more enjoyable sound and are fine for most uses.
As the title suggests I'm in a tossup between the two, everyone is pretty much an even split 50/50 between the 2 when it comes to gaming specifically. The Fiio seems like the better overall pick but for multiplayer games specifically from what I gather the DT770's have slightly better imaging and you are able to pinpoint enemy footsteps a little easier which is what I'm after. Was tired of having a wire connected to my DT 770s, and I didn’t want any other headset. So I made these wireless with a 2.4ghz Lekato receiver. The transmitter is connected to my cheap uphoria UM2 interface. I also bought a Bluetooth receiver that I haven’t attached yet so I can listen to my phone as well. The cable quality is poor and within one year the headphones break the wire stops working and sound stops coming out the right ear. Alright so i was recommended to buy the zh3 to drive my dt 770 pro 250 ohm headphones here on this subreddit. i purchased them and have everything setup but now im finding it not loud even though im at 100% on everything. so i did my own research and apparently the zh3 dac/amp combo is NOT enough to drive theese cans even though i was told it was. The real problem: ZH3 doesn’t swing enough voltage apparently DT 770 250 Ω wants roughly 4-5 Vrms for proper loudness & headroom ZH3 headphone out delivers well under
