I get it now I absolutely get it now. I do have to admit, out of the box it lacked a bit of bass and the treble was a bit to spicy for my taste and the cable length could be a bit longer but I was able to fix everything to my liking and.. I can't even fathom how incredible high tech, high quality gear can sound. I.. am speechless. I have been lost for hours and hours listening to music I generally wouldn't even listen to and I am blown away with how good the Dan Clark Audio Noir X paired with the Fiio K13 R2R D

Any thing more expensive than the SMSL Su1 (80) will only yield marginal improvments. Or if you want something that sounds slightly more analog, you can get the Shiit Modi 5+ with the AC power plug for $189. For example, I just upgraded my SMSL Su to a $320 Fiio K13 R2R dac and its hard to hear the difference, despite having audiophile Elac UBR 62 speakers and a clean Class AB amp.
