Have both cards that are great 3440x1440p cards. But shortcomings of both come to life at native 4K. And if you have to use up scaling on 5070ti to get playable and enjoyable gameplay, trust me you have to do the same in 5080. You can undervolt 5080 to get it closer to 4090 but you can do the same thing with 5070ti and get it close to 5080 for 250-300$

A 5060 laptop owner here. The jump in performance is actually huge. Higher vram means u can actually run ray tracing at 1600p, which is your native resolution. 5070ti is the sweet spot for 1600p as it has 12gb vram and high enough performance. One small note though, the jump from 5060 to 5070 is not that much and the vram limitations (both are 8gb) means often times you can't fully utilise stuff like rt anyway, so I'd recommend stepping down to it for value. 5070 is severely handicapped and others do not offer muc
I have this exact laptop and love it. The RAM and SSD are easily upgradable too (now have 32gb and 3TB). The 1200p screen is also perfectly sharp enough, if anything the lower resolution screen means the 5070 Ti will last longer.
5070Ti is like 70-80% faster than 5060Ti. It is better. Before 5070Ti I had 4060Ti 16GB and 5070Ti is almost twice as fast as that.

Go the 5070ti if you can. The problem with 5070 is the 12gb vram, many games running 4k, even with DLSS with framegen require more than 12gb. Otherwise it will be great. I game mostly on a 65” OLED on an ITX build in my lounge and it’s awesome.

It's not a good time to upgrade GPUs. The 5070Ti's price is inflated by \~30-40%. You would need to recoup a very good amount of your 5060Ti before it's even worth moving up to the 5070Ti.
I've bought the 5070 Ti exactly because of this, the 5080 was 27% more expensive but only 15% stronger so the 5070 Ti has a better price/value. +15% performance is not a gamechanger anyway.
