Deeper Read
This is not coming from one Reddit thread alone. The same broad read shows up across 7 separate discussion sources. Buyers repeatedly like strong value for the money, but the recurring hesitation is still reliability issues. That makes the buyer fit clearest for movie watchers, not as a catch-all recommendation. That leaves it reading more like a home-theater-leaning TV than a universal default.

Pro The Pros: What Redditors Love
Samsung S90F OLED vs Hisense U75QG for bright room and reflections I've had my Hisense U75QG for about a month and the brightness is great in my open living room with lots of natural sunlight. We have a window opposite the TV, however, and it is truly terrible with handling reflections. I've been looking at alternatives and the Samsung S90F seems to be a solid option. I'll take a hit in peak brightness if it means no more distracting reflections. Any other recommendations or comments on the S90F? I've main
the S90F looks absolutely insane, highly recommend
The s90f is the best out of these TVs in terms of picture quality , but the OS is kinda jank ,so I would suggest getting a separate streaming box and they dont have the greatest reputation when it comes to Reliability and QC (although all my samsung tvs have been great , knock on wood ) . Sony is aight but you get the Sony brand + reliability + processing.
i just bought the c5 but feeling like made the wrong choice bcos s90f has a better panel. may usage are waching movies, youtube and also i am an cinematograpger, editor and colorist so it will be my main workhorse. just feeling bad that i bought an inferior panel purely based on color volume, brightness is not an issue but colors are. c5 s90f c5 s90f
The S90F + free soundbar bundle is a no-brainer.
We have the S90F and it’s great. Super bright and HDR10+ is amazing. I don’t feel like we are missing out on Dolby Vision.
Samsung s90f or lg c5 would be your best options the s90f is better in a light controlled/dark room The lg c5 will probably be a bit better in a bright room But note that lg has Dolby Vision which samsung doesnt and the lg has better upscaling
Can only tell you my experience with an S90F has been flawless. Zero issues, perfect panel, delivery was on time and a great experience. I would honestly ignore a lot of the haters on Reddit, its the LG army here. And anecdotally I am seeing A LOT of people reporting issues (on here) with C5 and G5 units. Dead on arrival, dead pixels, terrible unifority... y
I just got an S90F and have been very happy with it so far. It is directly across from a window and unless you’re watching a lot of dark shows/movies the reflections are not noticeable. Obviously will be even less noticeable on a S95F
Con The Cons: Real-World Issues
Samsung S90F failed in 6 weeks warranty service nightmare Purchased a Samsung S90F 55" on December 29. On February 12, it developed a horizontal flickering line across the screen. I was slightly outside Best Buy's exchange period. They told me Samsung's 1-year warranty must be used first. Geek Squad said the same. Samsung troubleshooting didn't fix it, so they scheduled a technician. The tech never contacted me. When I reached out myself, they said they couldn't service a 55" and would notify Samsung.
