I owned all three, and I kept the XAX for the longest, then went back to the steam deck. Ergonomics were way more important, and the XAX beat both claws easily.

I love my Steam Deck, but let's not try to act like it is a "powerhouse" in 2026. It has hardware equivalent to that of a ps4. Great for a handheld device, but it is really showing its age now... The CPU especially

Crimson Desert 30fps Is it the best way to play the game? No. But it's good enough for me. It's great for short sessions during breaks in my workday, until I can get back home and play on my PC. Locking it at 30 fps allows for a more consistent frame rate without needing to use LSFG or even in-game frame generation. I'll include pictures showing the in-game settings. Also, can we just appreciate the powerhouse that the Steam Deck is? I've owned mine since release, and the mileage I've gotten out of it over the ye

PRAGMATA on Steam Deck OLED vs RedMagic 11 Pro - Performance Test! I compare performance between Steam Deck OLED and RedMagic 11 Pro using different approaches to get the best possible results. On the Steam Deck OLED, I tested Lossless Scaling with 2x, 3x, and 4x frame generation, exploring how far the hardware can go with advanced upscaling and frame interpolation. The results show just how powerful these techniques can be when properly tuned. On the RedMagic 11 Pro, I used the GameHub app to run PRAGMATA. This

I would recommend the Ally Z1E. Why? Because you have more options over that 2-4 years you're talking about. The only thing you give up are the trackpads on the SD and there are known issues with the microSD card reader on the Ally Z1E. But here are the options you gain by going with the Ally. \- If you want Windows, the Ally is already setup for it. Windows on a Steam Deck is not a good experience especially because of the CPU performance. But you can install Bazzite or SteamOS on the Ally if you want. So you

I personally have all 3. The steam deck does open up a whole new world and you’ve got a lot of cozy like games. Yeah the switch does have the exclusives and that’s exactly the reason I own it. Gaming laptop much more power but since I’ve had it I’ve not really played it….no idea why. If I honestly had only the choice of the 3 I’d go for the deck, followed closely by the switch.
Complaint Bios issues 2026-04-25
hey OP this is important. i bought a refurbished deck a couple years ago, and it would occasionally die like that and i would rescue it by rebuilding the bios. eventually it stopped being recoverable with a bios rebuild. i bought a bios flashing tool and dumped the bios and used a 'box fresh' bios. the steam deck bios is specific to the individual deck, so i'd move it to the pc and insert the deck-specific data in to a bios image from valve. then use the flashing tool to move it back to the deck. that worke

"For parts" Steam Deck Bought this "for parts" steam deck on eBay. Seller stated it doesn't have power, but had the light indicator when plugged in. No display. Thanks to the Steam community, I learned you're able to rebuild the BIOS by pressing specific buttons and waiting up to 15 minutes. When I saw the logo, I was thrilled! Paid about $200 out the door!! Not the best deal, but super happy it's fixed! steam deck steam deck

MSI Claw 8 AI + Steam Deck OLED : Best Tag Team! I have had the Steam Deck OLED for over 2.5 years now and have been in love since the first day! The form factor was so amazing and the freedom to game in any part of the house made it so much more relevant. It helped me get over doom scrolling on my phone and wrap up so many indie metroidvania titles which I would have always reconsidered to purchase if I had to play it on a desktop. But there was always a sense of missing power to play more power hungry AA and AA

It’s literally an upgraded Ally X from 2024, which was considered the best handheld PC at the time. All the “hate” is coming from PlayStation fanboys because “Xbox” is playing PlayStation games via Steam (or other stores), and because it’s an “Xbox” device that costs $1000. It’s probably the best PC handheld you can get at the moment. When it comes to the screen… did anyone complain about the screen size of the ROG Ally, Steam Deck LCD, or similar PC handhelds? The screen is good, the size is fine, 120Hz, VRR, fa

I am selling my deck for an xax. The deck is really great, but I had problems with steam OS and also that over time I would feel the strain on my left thumb because of the stick placement. Playing steam indie games, steam deck verified games was perfect straight out of the box. For me the main issues where the games that just wouldn’t work or the games where you had to jump trough 17 hoops to get working. Those you play trough other launchers, Linux is still Linux and while it has gotten a lot better at beeing

I had a Steam Deck and traded it for a XAX. Was wary because of Windows and FSE and reluctant to keep Windows because I thought it would be a crappy experience. I was actually pleasantly surprised, the user experience with Windows has been fine and even if I love SteamOS, having 100% guaranteed compatibility is very fresh and nice.

Steam Deck OLED Worth w/ 20% Off? I live in the UK and I can get a brand-new Steam Deck OLED 512GB for £382.20 but I'm not sure if I should buy it and was hoping you guys could help me decide. One of my main concerns is performance and overall enjoyment. My current PC setup is an RTX 5090 paired with a Ryzen 7800X3D and a 4K 240Hz OLED monitor and this is how I play all my games right now. I obviously understand that the Steam Deck won't come anywhere close in terms of performance or visual fidelity, but for thos

Steam deck oled or gaming laptop Hi all, As the title suggests imm really stuck between buying a steam deck oled or gaming laptop. I think the steam deck oled looks amazing, I love the controls the screen and the steam os. The only thing making me not instantly buy it is the performance. Performance matters alot to me and im unsure if the steam deck will be able to handle all the games I would play. I would definitely be playing indie games but also some AAA games aswell would love to be at 60fps if possible. I

Surprise hospital overnight stay isn't as bad with the Steam Deck when you have [Thronefall] 60Hz 8w TDP Thronefall is awesome & very underrated. It combines a few different game aspects in an interesting way that really works well on the Steam Deck. You get to build "castles", manage friendly units, choose your preferred weapon and choose your own combination of perks & traits each level. Super fun because each level has a different biome, layout, and that leads into a good deal of replay-ability with different

I mean if you have a comfortable amount of money for every expensive game you'll want to play and don't really care that nintendo is fucking you over then i say stay with the switch 2 If you want game freedom, download pirated stuff and emulators and don't really pay for anything and have your stuff where no company can take it from you(its what I personally would do) then buy a new steamdeck. From what i understand you already have one steamdeck and i think oled vs lcd doesn't really have any major performance u

I honestly get it now I'd avoided the Steam Deck as a concept for YEARS. Largely because I was in my early 20s, had lots of free time, and I hadn't really been paying attention to the advances in PC tech, so I was quite dismissive of it from a power perspective. I was comfortable with my desktop and that was that. I finally caved and bought one cuz I got a really good deal on a secondhand 64GB model with the OG packaging, a dock and original cables, plus my desktop finally had it's last hoorah back in December.
