Like full range and clean sound as daily driver 2026-05-18
I have edition xs and m1’s as my two daily drivers. Both eq’d and man it’s a great pairing. Planner bass still gets the edge as well as sound stage but the m1 is a highly competent headphone. When I do a sine sweep to filter out some of the peaks and dips I’m amazed how far up the frequency range the m1 goes it’s wild. They aren’t detail monsters or anything but they are full range and clean across it. It’s like you know exactly where they lack but you don’t care because they sound so good with and without eq.
Complaint Scratchy pads 2026-04-17
I have an edition xs and the stock pads are scratchy. Not great on my sensitive skin. Also, if you are treble sensitive the HiFiman peak may be a bit much. I can't wear them for long based on comfort and the treble peak.

I got the Edition XS earlier this year. I play it on an Apos Gremlin tube amplifier. I think they are each the best bang for the buck in audio right now.

HD 560S vs Edition XS for gaming and music - is the jump worth it? Hi everyone. Thanks in advance for any help. I know this subreddit gets a lot of comparison questions, so I appreciate you bearing with me. I'm currently trying to decide between the Sennheiser HD 560S and the Hifiman Edition XS. I mostly play competitive shooters but also listen to a lot of rock and electronic music. My budget is around $300. I've read that the Edition XS has that wow factor for music, but the comfort can be rough without a headba
Like scales well with source equipment 2026-03-02
Upgrade to Edition XS, do I need a new amp/dac? Just ordered an Edition XS to replace my HE400SE, my Douk Audio U5 Mini and Apple dongle have both served me well and I don't have any problems with either of them, but they are budget options after all. I heard that the Edition XS scales very well with the source equipment, so that has me wondering should I upgrade my other gear as well to get the best experience possible out of the Edition XS. Complaint Brighter tuning 2026-02-28
The Edition XS is a *much* brighter headphone and it is also pretty big, actually. Depends on what kind of tuning you prefer and whether or not the XS is comfortable for you personally. Personally, I prefer the HD 6XX but I'm also quite a bit treble sensitive and many Hifiman headphones are not exactly for me just because of that.

Just got Edition XS few days ago, Enjoying the feel. Absolute banger if you want to watch movies however comfort can be of issue, I had to buy extra cushion for headband
Like sounds great 2026-02-11
I've tried a ton of them and the edition xs is just the one for me literally perfect, no EQ no complaints. It just ...works. sounds great. Its neutral with a bass boost and infinite bass extension. With a library of mostly EDM it's kind of the only one that balances detail and bass well, without the pizzazz I don't need in the treble. It's also the only one I can crank up without getting offended. I only wish it cost more so I didn't feel like I had to mention I have thousands of dollars of gear. 269 makes me

The Hifiman Edition XS is worth checking into at its current price.
Like bang for the buck 2026-01-26
The Edition XS is probably your best bang for the buck. It can be found for a whopping 166€ (idk specific USD price) open-box on the official Hifiman online store. The open-box is basically like brand new product. I got open-box from them, and if they marketed it as brand new I would never know. Literally untouched product but discounted. The Ananda Nano is
Like love almost every part 2026-01-18
I’ve been using the Edition XS for a long while now and I love almost every part of them, most things point to me getting the LCD-X but I’ve heard those are actually recessed in the vocals so I was looking for things like the LCD-X but more intimate and with more mid focus. So my budget is around the price of a new pair of LCD-X’s. So around $1200 edition xs lcd-x intimate mid focus Need some help. Like killer headphones 2026-01-14
I'm baffled how you can have these at around 150€ now (refurbished even cheaper, but I wouldn't go that route when for a bit more I can have basically new piece). These are KILLER headphones for such price, literally not a single one comes anywhere near if we're talking price to performance. Even though they released at 400-500€, they were still considered great back then. But getting these for less than 200€ sounds criminal. Is Hifiman trying to "normalize" actual mid-fi-to-hi-fi for everyone and making it more p
Like 60% better sound quality 2026-01-14

Like quality headphones 2026-01-11
I currently have the Hifiman Edition XS and I absolutely love their quality, and how they sit on my head. Paired with my ifi Zen DAC V3--they sound and feel brilliant. But... they are open back, and everyone in the house can hear my music. My wife complained to me multiple times that the volume bothers her, she doesn't get the point of having headphones if everyone around can hear what I'm playing, which is understandable. Sadly, I am looking for closed back, tight seal headphones that would be as close as possib
Like upgrade in bass 2026-01-01
The k702 doesn’t have a lot of bass but has a very wide soundstage compared to the 560s, but detail is roughly the same. The edition xs is an upgrade to the 560s in bass, detail, and a wide soundstage that’s similar to the k702. It is a little sharp in the treble but you can always eq that. I haven’t heard the rest but I can wholeheartedly recommend the edit
