I love macOS and Macbooks but running VMs of older OS versions or anything which isn't ARM native is impossible. I'd look into x64 for that instead, unless you have another PC with the power to run VMs (in my case, I run a lot of VMs and use a desktop PC to do so, with only one Windows 11 VM on my Mac). I'd argue that a workstation laptop, like a ZBook or a ThinkPad P14 is an amazing laptop for your use case, as they have powerful CPUs and great build quality - if I didn't have a desktop I would likely just use o

If you want to get the best experience, you should consider 14-inch models gen 1-2, because there were still good keyboards, ram upgrade option in some models and good performance. Three days ago I bought a P14s Gen 2, got 32 Gb RAM, new SSD and Intel AX210 WiFi card. In my opinion ThinkPads should be upgradeable and modifiable. I'm going to change the display soon.

Hyprland is basically "my" minimalism and does never be fancy, I mean "never" will be fancy! I'm trying to rice it more, and basically why Arch... because "I use Arch though", NO!
