Quick take
If sound quality tops your list, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 is the headphone owners keep recommending — buyers who've had Sony's flagships routinely say the Momentum 4 sounds better for the money, with a soundstage wide enough that one owner looked around for a live band. The trade-offs are real, though: the ANC trails Sony, the headband fabric is prone to peeling, and reliability varies batch to batch. Buy for the sound; go in clear-eyed on build and ANC.
A popular premium wireless headphone frequently discussed as an alternative to Sony/Bose, especially by buyers who care about sound quality and battery life.
Premium ANC with travel-first polish
The sound-quality champion at its price by owner consensus, with strong comfort. The risks are softer ANC and a recurring headband-fabric and reliability concern.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 gets its strongest positive signal from sound quality. The points below summarize why buyers keep it on their shortlist.
The Momentum 4's are excellent for gaming on Android and Linux I decided to go with the Momentum 4's (vs Sony WH series) after watching/reading about umpteen hundred reviews from here to Youtube. They have excellent audio latency for gaming and I couldn't be happier! - Aptx FTW 🔥 Momentum 4's Sony WH series Momentum 4's
Momentum 4 + AptX BT Dongle = game changer! Just wanted to share a quick revelation for anyone using Sennheiser Momentum 4s. It can be a real game changer for all you iPhone, Samsung phone users, or anyone without Snapdragon chip phone. The M4s sound best on the AptX Adaptive codec, but Apple and Samsung don't support it. (Samsung actually blocks high-end AptX codecs even on their Snapdragon models to push their own ecosystem headphones - I mean such a di\*k move form Samsung!) Instead of buying Sennheiser's exp
Is it true that you can't listen to audio with the 2.5mm jack without powering on the HDB 630 (as well as the M5)? Momentum 4 Hello everybody. Well, for months I've been following yall with all kinds of anc headphones, last premium ones i had were XM3s and in the meanwhile sold them and since then I've owned usually budget ones 80\~ euros or such. And most of you all were raving about momentum 4 sound quality how amazing it is, anc not on the level of sony, apple etc but finally i went today and got them, i know, 5s came out but price dropped on 4s. And, so far sound is absolutely breathtaking. Really good quality and tuning.
Momentum 4 owners, are you tempted by the Momentum 5? I've been using the Momentum 4 for a while and I'm honestly really happy with them. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the ANC could be a bit better, and I do notice some latency with my iPhone, especially with keyboard clicks. The Momentum 5 looks really tempting though: replaceable battery, better ANC, Spatial Audio and head tracking all sound great. I don't really have a strong reason to upgrade, but I've liked the M4 so much that I'm interested anyway. I know n
I have both. Yeah Momentum 4 has better sound and battery life. Sonys still good though. Other than that xm6 has better ANC and features. Also xm6 is newer product. I’m having annoying connectivity issues with momentum 4 but xm6 are less comfortable because of the clamp. With that small price difference I would go for the newer xm6 and you already have Sennheiser product for sound
I have the momentum 4. Hearing shit I never heard in songs I’ve played 1000 times n I can wear them for hrs w no discomfort compared to if I wear my arctis pros my ears hurt n feel like they’re bleeding.
200€ noise canceling headphones I just got my old sennheiser momentum 4 stolen after like 4 months and im looking for a new pair, I liked the momentum 4 but I dont know if there are any new models that released that might be better options. they need to be bluetooth with good anc and sound quality. I'll be mainly using them for listening to music not at home so they should be decently easy to carry. my budget is around 200€ Italy and I can go a little bit higher my budget sennheiser momentum 4 sennheiser momen
I have both, and abut 10 other brands. Momentum 4s are good, no complaints but I also like my XM4s they compliment each other. Don’t get rid of your XM4s there’s a reason they been around so long and not discontinued!
Finally Joined the club!!! Finally purchased the Momentum 4, I have been using Jabra Headphones provided by my company which was shitty as hell in terms of sound quality. Using Spotify high quality songs (320kbps) with APTX Adaptive and also with FLAC files. After using it for 2 days: 1. Sound quality is great, some configuration is needed in EQ to get the best quality but I'm totally impressed by it. 2. ANC is not so great 3. Mic could've been better and noise suppression should've been better. 4. Grea
Just got my M4 Just got my new Momentum 4 and so far enjoying them. Coming from BT 450 and XF 1000xm4, these would be an upgrade. Not sure how big of a difference it'll be in comparison to XF-M4, though they are in ear, they have great noise cancellation. But hoping for the best. Momentum 4 Momentum 4
No other recommendation at this price point. The Sennheiser Momentum 4 is your best choice period. I don’t think you will be able to find the HDB630 at that 300 USD price. And nothing else at 300 USD sings better than the Momentum 4. It’s great for electronic music, and great for any kind of music if you use the app to slightly reduce the sub bass level that is great for Electronic music but that may be overwhelming for vocal, classical or even pop/rock music. The Sennheiser SmartControlPlus app Works great an
Get the momentum if you can afford it. Sound quality is a lot better then the accentum. It's not that the accentum is bad, it's just that the momentums are so good.
headphone try on shops- london hi everyone !! i'm trying to decide between the sennheiser momentum 4 and sony xm4s. i've never invested in expensive headphones before so im a bit wary but i can't figure out which one to get. i understand that the sennheiser audio quality is better but the anc is worse, and my main priority is audio quality but i also need good anc for studying and wearing on the go. id like to try both out to decide which i prefer before purchasing. does anyone know what stores i could try them
HDB630 vs Momentum 4 I currently own the Momentum 4 and they're quite good. I quite like the rich bass and soundstage it offers, however I am curious to know if the HDB630 are the "next-level" up from these headphones, in terms of listening, sound quality etc. I have my Momentum 4's tuned via the app to maximize the bass and bring up the high ends just a bit, and with that its such a wonderful experience. Is it worth it, or should I just stick with my Momentum 4? HDB630 Momentum 4 HDB630 Momentum 4
Momentum 4= good sound, best built quality, but less anc than xm4 and xm5, don’t go for the xm5 because of the hinge problem, I’ll suggest you the m4 for a long run
Maybe you should jump into the open back headphones rabbithole. Momentum 4 are definitely a worthy upgrade but those are closed back headphones, definitely good for Anc and carrying around. But ig you're not worried about carrying them and would probably use headphones at home in quiet environment, maybe consider open back headphones.
I have had both (currently have both XM5 and Momentum 4). Same advice as anyone who has had both will say - Momentum 4 is quite a bit better sound quality, particularly for its price, although the Sony is adequate. Momentum 4 is much worse ANC, and if this is important, then the Sonys should be your choice. I travel a lot, and I would never bother with the S
go with sennheiser, it's best sounding one that has good anc, anything with better anc like sony doesn't sound good, or has terrible anc like those focal bathys or doesn't have anc at all like edifier s3 and s5 momentum 4 is the best one to get for people who aren't audiophiles
Momentum 4 - how is this possible? I was at Best Buy today and trying random headphones i put MM4 on pressed play and started looking around thought there was a live band to my right. Skipped a song thought there was an orchestra to my left and right. What in the hell? I have never experienced headphones anywhere close to this in my life. Ever. Like this wasn't some gimmick surround sound kind-of effect thing, it was like I was in the goddamn room. Does all music even mp3 files sound like this on the MM4? For
True Wireless Momentum 4 has excellent range. I found the only problem with my TWM4 buds. I listened to music while busy in the house and misplaced my phone. I went through the whole house looking for my phone and only started to lose connection at the kitchen. It took me 30mins to find my phone due to the connection range. Which was almost 30 meters. Momentum 4's I finally found a Best Buy in my area that carries them and had a $100 off sale too! Best thing ever! Momentum 4 Momentum 4
How to turn off and stop them from connecting to everything without being touched? I've had a pair of momentum 4 for just over a year now. They're honestly the best sounding headphones I've ever had but I cannot turn them off. I have already tried switching positions on the case. I have tried pressing and holding the button. The only two things that keep them off and unpaired is draining the battery or forgetting them every time I disconnect. Neither of these are reliable options. Am I missing something or did I
Momentum 4- The best neutral sounding headphone I received these headphones 2 weeks ago, and honestly, these are the best neutral-sounding headphones money can buy. Don't think that ANC will be a top of the calss, it is not, but the sound clarity, performance and battery back up is next level. Momentum 4 Momentum 4
So you are looking at \~$355 USD. That puts you in the realm of the Bose QC, Sony XM4, B&W Px7s2e, Sennheiser Momentum 4, Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 and the Nothing ANC headphone. Of these if ANC is the key for you, the Sony and Bose are best in class for that feature with the Bose being a bit more current with BT software & codecs and for me a bit more comfortable. If average-above average ANC is ok, Sennheiser Momentum 4 would be my choice. If ANC doesn't matter, the B&W sound good for the price but have very modes
I’m in a bit of a sensory pickle and I’m hoping for some advice. If this is the wrong subreddit for this kind of discussion, please let me know and I'll be happy to move it! Maybe Sennheiser Momentum 4. Using AAC with Apple Music should sound good. They will sound good wired if you use the USB wire attachment that's included.
For comfort and decent sound and the best noise cancelling go with Bose quiet comfort ultra 2, for better sound quality, for the price it's hard to beat Sennheiser momentum 4. I bought an open box pair from Best buy for $175 plus tax. Like $206 total.
Check fabric peels and pads wear after years before buying Sennheiser Momentum 4, especially if it affects your daily use case.
Headphones that actually blow you away? Use mostly at home, UK based, up to £200, I like bassy music as I listen to EDM but also want clarity and a wow factor. I have Soundcore X20 sport and I wanted something better for the ps5 that I plug into the controller with a 3.5mm cable. I have just bought sennheiser momentum 4 but I was expecting a lot more, I thought they would be a huge step up from the soundcore but I just don't feel like they are, yes they are clearer but they don't wow me, the
Critical safety issue: Momentum 4 right earcup overheating and sudden battery death. Hi everyone, I'm reaching out to see if others are experiencing similar critical issues with their **Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless**. Momentum 4 after two years of use I bought my (pre-owned) pair of Momentum 4 in 2024 for 130 €. Since then I've used them almost every single day and taken them everywhere (gym, buses, trains, planes). Here are some considerations I have: \- first of all, sound quality is good for this kind of product, but stock equalization feels too muddy for my taste (which is expected for this kind of product). Eq definitely makes a big difference. \- it's true that electronics tend to fail: proximity sensor doesn't always
Momentum 4's at its finest My Momentum 4 headphones aren't working. I encountered this problem today. They worked last night, but today they haven't. The main points of my situation are: 1. The headphones work if I use the mini jack. 2. The power button doesn't respond at all if the headphones aren't charging. 3. Four of the five indicators are lit while charging (some are flickering faintly, so I'm not sure how this relates to my issue). 4. When the headphones are charging, I can connect via BT, but I have t
My Experience with the Momentum 4 (ultimately returned) I bought a brand new pair at Best Buy and had them a week or so before I had to return them. They continually disconnected from my phone without rhyme or reason. When I finally went to try and apply some fixes found online, they became frozen. They would not turn off, would not reset, but still made that stupid noise when I touched the outer right ear. Also, has someone who wears glasses, they were so squeaky when pushed against my frames. I'm experiencing a problem with the 3.5mm jack on Momentum 4. Hi everyone, I recently bought the Audiocular D07 DAC and connected my Momentum 4 to my iPhone. However, the sound quality is terrible. I don't know why, as it's connected via the 3.5mm cable that comes with the momentum 4, but the sound is not good. When I connected it to Bluetooth, the sound quality improved significantly, and even when I used the Type C cable, the sound was better. Can anyone suggest why this is happening? Noise Control Problem Just got a pair of Momentum 4's. When I turn on Noise Control and use the Custom setting and have it at about 25% into the ANC (or anywhere in ANC for that matter) most of the time I have a slight static or buzzing in the right side. It's audible during playback. If it give the earcup a tap with my finger it will go away but come back in a few seconds. Is this normal with Senns ANC? I'm new to the brand and new to what I thought was going to be higher quality ANC. So far I'm pretty disappoi
I have had my momentum 4 since 2022. Initially had software problems but nothing major. Only recently has the fabric started coming off and I’m now onto my second set of ear pads after using my momentum’s daily for 4 years.
Bad game quality when in a discord call over bluetooth with the Momentum 4 Basically the title. Calls sounds fine, but in-game audio sounds distant and compressed. I'm also running the BTD600 adapter and I've permanently turned off hands free telephony. Is there any way to fix this? Update: This is my first experience with wireless peripherals so I wasn't aware of the conflict bluetooth could have with different systems. I love this headset, but it won't fit my needs so I'll be returning them in exchange for a pa
Sennheiser Momentum 4 Review I've been using the momentum 4's everyday for the past 3 and a half years. I've averaged around 4 hours a day on my headphones while maybe averaged 7/8 hours of music listening (I'm probably going deaf in a few years). The momentum 4's have superb sound quality, battery life, design and functionality. But now, my headphones are clearly dying, occasionally the audio cuts the left ear channel completely and leaves only the right one usable. It's understandably broken after constant wear
Believe it or not I actually prefer the "bad" ANC on the momentum 4s, I dislike the software bugs associated with it but the core product suites my needs perfectly. I want to hear some sound so I can still be a bit aware which, though admittedly unintentional, is exactly what the M4 ANC does.
Audio issue on PC My Momentum 4 headphones were working fine, I was able to use them to chat on discord etc (it degraded other audio but that was fine), but for some reason now when I join any sort of call it just cuts the speaker audio altogether, and I can't hear anything. I'd been using these to do videocalls at work and everything with no problem, I've no idea what could have changed, or where to even begin looking. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance! Momentum 4 he
Sennheiser momentum 4 left side speaker not working😭 I am writing to request assistance regarding my Momentum 4 Wireless headphones. Momentum 4 parts So I purchased my Momentum 4's back in 2024 and more or less from the first few weeks was having the headband fabric freying issue. 2 years later with every day and night use, including sleeping with them on the cushioning has more or less mostly come loose the fabric is no longer tucked under the band and my 3 year old at the time had gotten a hold of them one day and peeled out the inner ear foam. I need bass! Hey guys, I love music but I've always been too not poor but not rich to assemble a real audiophile collection. I used to be content with my AirPods Pro, then I got the AirPods Max 1 and while I liked the sound, it hurt my jaw due to the weight and I didn't love cleaning the ear pads. After that I saw a recommendation for Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4's so I got those on a sale and while they're fine, I felt the bass was lacking. If I used the app to put the bass in the very bottom right corner I'd get pain
Momentum 4 Dead-on-arrival I just got a pair of white Momentum 4 as a present and was very excited to try them, but I've run into a really strange issue and I'm trying to understand whether this is a firmware problem or a defective unit. The headphones connect via Bluetooth without any problems and sound very good. ANC works, touch controls work, wear detection (IR sensor) works as well. So at first glance everything seems fine. However: * The headphones are detected by the Sennheiser Smart Control/Plus app (so
Momentum 4 headband peeling after 5 months - Send for warranty or just fix with glue? My 5-month-old Momentum 4 has the headband fabric peeling due to adhesive failure (not torn or worn). I'm the current owner of both the Momentum True Wireless 4 and the Momentum 4 in which I haven't had any issues at all since purchase. However, the main thing with Sennheiser is that the reliability greatly varies from batch to batch. Its either very reliable and never gives you any issues throughout its use life or very unreliable where you're on the edge of you seat every time you update, getting ready for it to get bricked.
Is Senheiser Momentum 4 really the best you can buy in that range for closed-back, bluetooth headphone? (focusing solely on sound quality for music) I only care about sound quality for music listening (mostly classic so I need to be able to hear all the voices and accompaniments) and do not care about other things much as long as it's functional (like functional bluetooth etc). If this is the case, is senheiser momentum 4 the best in the range for closed-back, bluetooth headphone or are there better ones? It sound
Talk me out of the Sennheiser Momentum 4s. I currently have Sennheiser Momentum 4s, and I haven't had very many issues with them. The sound is excellent, the ANC is sufficient for my needs (gym and somewhat frequent air travel), and the battery life was great. My only complaint has been the build quality, as there's a lot of plastic and tended to creak. Unfortunately, the battery has now started to degrade enough that it no longer lasts a full travel day.
I brought these headphones based on the THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of comments in this sub Reddit stating they’re one of the best. So I waited until Black Friday and caught them on sell for half the price at Best Buy. TURNS OUT THEIR JUST SHIIT. Here’s why: 1. The volume is so low when using these headphones even with noise canceling. I literally have to damn near burst my ear drums to hear a movie, video, or game clearly. And trust it’s not me, I have superb hearing, I get tested every year. 2. Your wifi adapter HA

However: * The headphones are detected by the Sennheiser Smart Control/Plus app (so
How to turn off and stop them from connecting to everything without being touched?
Momentum 4 headband peeling after 5 months - Send for warranty or just fix with glue? My 5-month-old Momentum 4 has the headband fabric peeling due to adhesive failure (not torn or worn). Support asked me to ship it for inspection, but I have to arrange shipping myself. Should I send it under warranty, or just fix it with contact adhesive? Anyone had a similar experience? Thanks!
I’m in a bit of a sensory pickle and I’m hoping for some advice. If this is the wrong subreddit for this kind of discussion, please let me know and I'll be happy to move it! I currently use the Sennheiser Momentum 4s for my bus commute. I spent nearly £200 on them about 7 months ago, and while they’re great at blocking the low-frequency engine hum, they rea

Quick answers to the main review, complaints, buyer-fit, and comparison questions shoppers ask before choosing Sennheiser Momentum 4.
Owner consensus strongly says yes. A large number of independent owners call it the best-sounding headphone at its price, citing a wide soundstage, strong instrument separation and immersive detail — it's the most-praised aspect by a wide margin.
Owners who've owned both tend to give the Momentum 4 the edge on sound — one calls it quite a bit better than the XM5, another gives it better sound and battery than the XM6 — while agreeing Sony has the stronger ANC and features.
It's adequate but not the best in its class. Owners repeatedly note the ANC is weaker than Sony's flagships, though one found it good at blocking low-frequency engine hum on a bus and another actually prefers the lighter isolation.
It's a recurring complaint. Owners report the headband fabric peeling or fraying — one within five months due to adhesive failure, another from the first weeks — so it's worth registering for warranty.
Reliability varies. Many owners report years of trouble-free use, but others hit dead channels, power-on failures, overheating, disconnects or dead-on-arrival units — owners themselves describe quality as varying batch to batch.
Wired playback is generally a plus — they keep working passively when the battery dies, and sound good over USB. One owner did report poor sound over the 3.5mm jack with a particular DAC, so results can depend on your setup.
