16" MacBook Pro M3 512 18GB RAM or 14" MacBook Pro M5 1TB SSD 24GB RAM ? (CAD) Basically the title. For context I just got this 16" MacBook Pro M3 512 GB 18GB RAM a couple days ago for $1800 CAD with the 2 year protection plan from Best Buy. I'm loving the screen and how big it is. I am using it mostly for school for coding. It's not as heavy coding so I thought the 18 GB would suffice. I was told that in the second term we would be doing Android Apps Development. I am not sure if the 18 GB RAM would be enough to
Macbook pro 2018 intel i5 13". Should I keep or not? Its running pretty good. I LOVE the size, display, screen, and feel of the macbook however it is an intel chip, and is from 2018 currently on the Ventura macOS. I know its not the best having such an old machine in every way, however the tech guy I bought it from told me it'll easily last me a very long time like loads of years, he said. Now i dont know how true that is, but what do you guys think? Should i keep or get a different one? My use case is just stu

Best way to make MacBook last. Hey everyone! I brought my first MacBook!! It's a MacBook Air m4 chip, and I want it to last at least my whole degree. I am in my first year of my uni degree, so make it last for 3 years. How do I take care of it properly? Case? Keyboard case? 😊 MacBook Air m4 chip MacBook Air m4 chip
Macbook Air M4 24 GB di RAM o Macbook Pro M4 16 GB di RAM? Good morning everyone. I should buy my first MacBook and I'm undecided between the two models I wrote in the title. I have a budget of €1500, which in Europe forces me to make choices regarding the configuration. I use the laptop for uses such as Docker and I think that for my use, a basic M4 chip is sufficient, I don't need an M4 pro chip. So I'm undecided whether it would be better for me to buy a MacBook Air with M4 chip and 24 GB of RAM (1400 €) w
Budget School Laptop Thank you for any help in advance, I'm heading into my sophmore year of college and my current laptop is absolutely not going to make it. Macbook or gaming laptop?! Hi, I'm going to university next year and I need a laptop but I don't know which one to pick... Apple and gamint laptops each have their own pro's and con's. I want to be able to game on it but light games like Minecraft with shaders at my friend's house because i have a gaming desktop at home but I also need a long battery and all of that for around €900. I'm really confused between these two... Asus Zephyrus Duo 16 and Apple MacBook Pro M5 Pro... Both of these laptops are very different, I know that, but hear me out... Both of them are very similarly priced where I live... I need this laptop for coding, 3D modelling and sometimes gaming. I don't give much but when I do they are very graphics intensive AAA games... And also sometimes running AI models locally... The MacBook has better thermals, better battery and much much better brand reputation and build but
Wouldn’t it be the other way around for ram? I’ve only used school Chromebooks but they would freeze when opening chrome or browsing the web. MacOS has pretty good ram management. How is this budget Mac targeted towards people who only upgrade once every 10 years? A MacBook is certainly going to last longer than a Chromebook. As for storage, word docs and pdfs don’t really take up too much storage (files K-12 students would use) The MacBook also uses like the A18 which is comparable to an M1 chip which is bett
apple is rumored to release a cheaper macbook on the 4th of march which should be around $600-700, and it will probably get discounted on amazon cus u can find the macbook air m4 for $750 on amazon brand new, which is a $250 discount, so id assume this new macbook will be like $500 on amazon with the discounts, so id say wait for the new one to release
It’s seems that your use case doesn’t require a pro chip or even a MacBook Pro model. If you want the better screen yeah I would get the M5 14 inch MacBook Pro, but other than that you could save a ton of money by getting an M4 MacBook Air 15 inch and spec up the ram. Honestly it’s up to you and hire much you want to use your laptop for. All of the modern Macs are quite capable of doing what you require.
If you have a MacBook models from 2021-on the DAC in it then it is good enough to go directly into your Denon amp. If older, I'd consider an external DAC such as the $80 SML Su1 for audiophile sound. And its got a better DAC than the on in your Denon amp. But I would buy a good cable, with good shielding/insulation in case it crossed ac lines. And copper jacks are actually better than gold. Finally, AAC music at 256 kbps is audio transparent to FLAC and ALAC, so I wouldn't be afraid of also listening to high
Get a Macbook, they're good for video editing and multiple chrome tabs and stuff. The M4 mac also has like 16 gigs of ram, you just need to upgrade the storage or get a external SSD if you want to carry a boat load of files. Hopefully you're into the apple ecosystem else it might be a pain in the butt to just connect your phone to the laptop. But yeah mac will offer you a better value here

Advice Needed My Intel based MacBook Pro 2020 model has an issue with the logic board. Apple want just under €1k to fix. It's a high enough spec that I spent approx €2.5k on back in 2021 (I needed bootcamp at the time, hence why I bought intel). Does anyone have any advice? Is it worth paying for the repair, buying new? MacBook Pro 2020 model MacBook Pro 2020 model
Macbook Neo reviews are in, and sadly they are mixed.. So before. I made another post asking about the Neo vs a Air M1 with 16GB. But after I've seen the reviews of Neo coming out my decision became more easier, I will pick the M1 Air. Sadly most of the people found this issues with the Neo: \- Washed out screen at any brightness level. \- Huge bottleneck between the A18 Pro chip and the 8GB of RAM. Many said the CPU is way to better for everything you put it too, but is held back by the 8GB of RAM, and you will
I think apple charges $800 for the repair and that way you know you are getting genuine parts, id do that instead of third party. Mini-LED displays arent cheap.
My cat also bit and ruined the corner of my laptop display. It was an M1 Macbook Pro and it would have cost me $1k to fix. I decided to buy a new laptop instead.
My cat bit the corner of my MacBook My cat bit my 14" inch Macbook pro (bought brand new in 2023). The screen is punctured and won't display, it does display to an external monitor. A repair shop initially told me it would be $300-$500 max, so I left the laptop with them knowing there would be a $60 diagnostic fee if we declined the repair. Now they came back with a $900 repair quote for the display assembly! I'm upset they said $500 max when I dropped it off. I'm trying to figure out the best option: Pay the $9
That is a bad deal. It is currently unsupported. I would recommend getting the MacBook Neo. Since you are in education, you should qualify for the education discount. Here in the United States the normal price is about $600, and the education discount brings it down to around $500.
MacBook Neo deathtrap While on paper it looks nice ($600) please do not have illusions. 1. It is targeted to not-so-rich-customers 2. 8GB RAM for macOS was NOT enough like 5 years ago 3. It will get just 6-7 years updates (please think AGAIN for who it is targeted - to customers who do upgrade like once per 10 years) For MUCH LESS you can get Chromebook Plus which means 12th or 13th gen intel - with same or BETTER spec 8-16GB RAM - 256-1TB usually UPGRADEABLE storage And now the best part - in Chromebook worl
Hellooo! I’m starting grad school this fall and am looking for a laptop that last me 4-5 year. I currently have a 2020 MacBook however it’s quite slow and has a tendency to crash. I am wondering if I should work on getting the MacBook refurbished or simply just buy a new laptop. I will need something that will be easily able to run R, SPSS, etc., supports external monitor use, and will just run the course. What do folks recommend? What laptops have you had good luck with?
