LG G5 OLED gets its strongest positive signal from more saturated colors with adjusted settings. The points below summarize why buyers keep it on their shortlist.
Lg filmmaker mode Having not had the lg g5 for long I've had it in standard mode with default -20 colour to 0 and brightness up everything else standard and I found the colour to be abit muted on SDR virgin 360 box. true to life maybe but abit de saturated using auto detect colour gamet switching the gamet helps but native is a lot more saturated My question is I've heard a lot about film maker mode and I've only raised the brightness to 80 and colour temperature to 0 from warm 40 and it looks so much better col
New LG G5 55" Tried Ultrawide gaming for awhile on my Alienware 34", I couldn't do it, I missed vertical space way too much. Sold it and went with an LG G5. Screen quality is incredible, and games look so much more cinematic on the big screen. I know the size isn't for most people but it works perfectly for me as I normally sit pretty far from the screen. Highly recommend if you have the space. As with most LG OLEDS let it run for awhile to get rid of the uniformity bands that sometimes shows up on new TVs. LG
bro whoever told you a monitor is better than an LG G5 OLED for gaming is actually smoking some incredibly good quality crack cocaine unless you need to play something at over 165fps at 4K (who the fuck?) it'll be better than any monitor
Upgrade 3080 or get a monitor I just got my first gaming PC because of Crimson Desert. I'm really looking forward to where the modding community may go. I have a 3080 on an I7 at the moment and am playing it on my LG G5 OLED. it looks great so far but I keep being told a monitor is so much better. While I'm happy at the moment what would be the best next step, investing in a monitor or upgrading the 3080? LG G5 OLED LG G5 OLED
Time to move on from the 77" LG CX to the 77" G5 - Great Promo! Just decided to pull the trigger on the 77" LG G5. Decided to upgrade from the 77" CX and looking forward to the newer panel and 165hz for PC gaming! FYI - I researched and shopped pricing for some time and finally sent an offer to Greentoe for $2375, a retailer countered with a $2399 pricepoint in less than 10 mins (+No tax in my state from the retailer selected) and the deal was done. The wife agreed after mentioning the "$2199 + Tax" Price. ;) Lo
If you have the budget the 97inch LG G5(Oled). Its on sale for like $23000 right now. Your not going to do better than that if budget isnt an issue. Thats the best of size and picture right now.

Quick answers to the main review, complaints, buyer-fit, and comparison questions shoppers ask before choosing LG G5 OLED.
Yes, for gaming above 120fps. The G5 supports 165Hz which the C5 doesn't reach, making it the recommended choice for PC gaming with high-refresh GPU setups. For console gaming at 4K/120Hz, the C5 is nearly equivalent at a lower price.
It's one of the most-recommended OLED displays for PC gaming. At least one community member stated it beats any gaming monitor for most PC gaming scenarios — unless you specifically need frame rates above 165fps. The 165Hz refresh and OLED contrast combination is the core appeal.
One owner who made this specific upgrade (77" CX to 77" G5) decided it was worth it, citing improved picture quality and the new gaming features. The generational improvement in both panel and gaming specs is real, though the value depends on your use case and whether you need 165Hz.
Owners mention that the default color settings benefit from adjustment. One owner switched from standard mode to adjusted settings and found colors more saturated and natural. LG's filmmaker mode is available and commonly used as a starting point for calibration.
