Best For
- You want reference picture and superb HDR for movies and 4K Blu-ray.
- You game in HDR at high refresh on PC or console.
- Reduced reflections from the improved anti-glare coating matter in your room.
Quick take
The LG G5 is the OLED owners describe in superlatives — stunning picture, superb HDR, and a wow factor that hasn't worn off even ten months in. For HDR gaming and 4K Blu-ray it's about as good as the format gets, helped by a much-improved anti-glare coating. The caveats are narrow and mostly technical: PC users can hit 4K 165Hz signal limits, and a few owners note panel-uniformity quirks. For a flagship OLED, it's an easy shortlist topper.

LG G5 55, LG C2 42 or UCDM3 to pair with Asus 27 inch 500hz XGAQDPG I bought the C2 back in 2023 and used it for two years with a 240hz IPS. Last year, both the G5 and 500hz were on sale for Black Friday so I picked both up to upgrade my setup. Then, I kinda FOMO purchased the UCDM3 and moved the G5 to the bedroom. But now, I'm kinda torn. Miss the immersion and superb HDR from G5 but love the PPI and 240hz of the UCDM3. I just set up the C2 again and realized how perfect 42 inches is, even if it's 120hz and no
Best Wall Mount for LG G5 OLED 55" + Philips Hue Sync Backlight Setup I recently bought an **LG G5 OLED 55"** and I'm currently using the flush wall mount that came with the TV. It's honestly great-the TV sits almost flush against the wall and looks amazing. The only issue is that I'm planning to install a Philips Hue Sync backlight setup (or another LED backlight solution), and there isn't enough space behind the TV for the LED strips or for the light to spread properly. Because of this, I'm considering switchi
Besides the 5yr panel warranty I haven’t seen any mention of the significantly better anti-glare coating on the G5. Any reflections at all look much more muted and less distracting, especially with darker content. Plus both SDR & HDR pre and post calibration were better on the G5 48hr review comparison: [https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-g5-oled-vs-lg-c6h-oled/88601/127431?share\_token=0ycaKkNYXn7ZqPNJZsQMamhmqWg1c6WK](https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/lg-g5-oled-vs-lg-c6h-oled/88601/127431?share
LG G5 77" Upgrade + Greentoe Warranty Recommended? Recently took advantage of the partner store memorial day sale on a 77" G5 + S95AR Soundbar Bundle. I had a surprisingly great experience with delivery, despite the horror stories others have had. Order was placed on 5/21, soundbar arrived TWO DAYS later on 5/23, and the TV arrived on 5/28! This is such a massive upgrade compared to my previous Samsung 75" UHD TV and the soundbar is excellent, as I had only previously used my TV speakers for audio. Curious if y'
LG G5 65" opinion Hello. Has LG solved the problem with vertical banding, which is present on 5% of the gray area? Regarding banding, I have a 27" tandem woled monitor, and the vertical banding is present on gray backgrounds, lines that are visible at 5-10%, and it doesn't look very nice. I hope the G5 is much better in this regard. How does the lg g5 perform when processing images of lower resolutions, e.g. 720p or 1080p? Sony is supposedly the best here, but reading reviews, the LG G5 has improved in terms of

LG G5 77" Gahhdamn I love this TV 10 months into owning this TV and the wow factor still hasn't worn off. Between true HDR gaming and 4k Blu-ray's I feel like an OLED snob sometimes but it's the best TV tech out there today. LG G5 77 LG G5 77
Lg filmmaker mode Having not had the lg g5 for long I've had it in standard mode with default -20 colour to 0 and brightness up everything else standard and I found the colour to be abit muted on SDR virgin 360 box. true to life maybe but abit de saturated using auto detect colour gamet switching the gamet helps but native is a lot more saturated My question is I've heard a lot about film maker mode and I've only raised the brightness to 80 and colour temperature to 0 from warm 40 and it looks so much better col
New LG G5 55" Tried Ultrawide gaming for awhile on my Alienware 34", I couldn't do it, I missed vertical space way too much. Sold it and went with an LG G5. Screen quality is incredible, and games look so much more cinematic on the big screen. I know the size isn't for most people but it works perfectly for me as I normally sit pretty far from the screen. Highly recommend if you have the space. As with most LG OLEDS let it run for awhile to get rid of the uniformity bands that sometimes shows up on new TVs. LG
bro whoever told you a monitor is better than an LG G5 OLED for gaming is actually smoking some incredibly good quality crack cocaine unless you need to play something at over 165fps at 4K (who the fuck?) it'll be better than any monitor
Upgrade 3080 or get a monitor I just got my first gaming PC because of Crimson Desert. I'm really looking forward to where the modding community may go. I have a 3080 on an I7 at the moment and am playing it on my LG G5 OLED. it looks great so far but I keep being told a monitor is so much better. While I'm happy at the moment what would be the best next step, investing in a monitor or upgrading the 3080? LG G5 OLED LG G5 OLED
Time to move on from the 77" LG CX to the 77" G5 - Great Promo! Just decided to pull the trigger on the 77" LG G5. Decided to upgrade from the 77" CX and looking forward to the newer panel and 165hz for PC gaming! FYI - I researched and shopped pricing for some time and finally sent an offer to Greentoe for $2375, a retailer countered with a $2399 pricepoint in less than 10 mins (+No tax in my state from the retailer selected) and the deal was done. The wife agreed after mentioning the "$2199 + Tax" Price. ;) Lo
If you have the budget the 97inch LG G5(Oled). Its on sale for like $23000 right now. Your not going to do better than that if budget isnt an issue. Thats the best of size and picture right now.
Check faint spots visible in the screen reflection before buying LG G5 OLED, especially if it affects your daily use case.
The S99H is the best gaming screen I've ever seen. I've had many screens over the past 5 or so years and this screen is honestly incredible for my room, from the S95B to the LG 45" Oled ultrawide to the Samsung 49" Oled to the G5. I had the LG G5 last year that got returned after multiple repairs last month. That screen really wasn't great for my situation where you sit close, as all you could see was the diagonal dithering lines in darker scenes which were not good, the S99H has none of that, you can get really
Spots Seen in Reflection of G5 I got an Open Box Geek Squad Certified LG G5 from Best Buy Canada and when the screen was dark or off, in the reflection i saw these spots. Doesn't look like it comes off. Best Buy Canada doesn't share the condition of their open box TVs. Also the hours on the TV showed 0. I don't see the dots affecting the screen when I'm watching something and can't see it when it's not a dark image. Does anyone know if this is damage to the reflective coating or would cleaning with a microfibr
Sony Bravia 8 55" or LG G5 55"? I have a Loewe We See 32" LCD tv currently with a semi glossy screen. We view on a bit of an angle and is semi opposite the window (I don't get sun on TV). I do notice the reflection of our shutters when watching movies during the day (in the dark parts of the movie) (night time is fine). I know most OLED will be great for night viewing but just concerned about day watching. The costs of these TV are very expensive and so far, I have the LG G5 as the frontrunner (seen for A$2500
I have an LG G5 connected to my PC with a 9070XT and I cannot get 4K 165Hz working without using 8-bit color. Most it can do at 10-bit is 4K 120Hz or 1440p 165Hz; DSC does not show up in CRU.
Just recently upgraded to a LG G5 77 inch. The screen quality is mindblowing, but I'm really struggling to get the best quality displayed. Installed Plex connecting to my Synology NAS with 60mbit blurays — on my old C8 I could push the entire uncompressed image with subtitles and AC5.1 sound, but the G5 struggles.

Quick answers to the main review, complaints, buyer-fit, and comparison questions shoppers ask before choosing LG G5 OLED.
Owners describe it in superlatives — stunning, immersive, superb HDR — and one ten months in says the wow factor still hasn't worn off. Picture quality is the clear reason to buy.
Yes — it's a standout. Owners praise true HDR gaming and 165Hz for PC play, with games looking far more cinematic than on a monitor for most use cases.
Not in every setup. One owner could only reach 4K 165Hz by dropping to 8-bit color, managing 4K 120Hz or 1440p 165Hz at 10-bit. If you need 4K 165Hz at full color depth over PC, verify your GPU and cabling support it.
A few owners report it — vertical banding on part of the gray field and faint spots visible in the reflection on an open-box unit. Most owners don't mention it, but it's worth checking on a new panel.
It's a noted improvement. Owners say the significantly better anti-glare coating makes reflections much more muted and less distracting, especially with darker content.
The G5 adds a brighter panel and the improved anti-glare coating, but it costs more. One C5 owner felt the C5 was already enough for them, so if budget is tight the C5 is worth weighing.
